STARS ambulance was used to find a missing hunter near the Sweetgrass First Nation.
Just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, the Battlefords RCMP got a complaint that the 89-year-old man had not returned home from hunting. He was last seen leaving his home at around 10 a.m. that morning.
Police tried to patrol the area for the missing man but recent rain and dense brush made some trails impassable.
RCMP decided to contact STARS from Saskatoon to help with the search. The helicopter was able to spot the man northeast of Sweetgrass First Nation in good condition at around 2:30 a.m. An RCMP officer met the man at the airport.
