Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish a garage fire in Regina Monday morning.
The garage backed into the alley that runs on the west side of Tommy Douglas House.
Construction crews working across the street from the NDP headquarters first spotted the flames and called 911.
“They were just starting to shoot out the back of the top of the garage door,” Curtis Parisian described.
Parisian says one of his coworkers went to the front door of the Montreal Street home and warned the people inside about the fire in the back alley garage.
Fire crews extinguished the flames by 7:30 a.m. The inside of the garage had been blackened by the flames. A burned couch had been pulled from the garage and sat in the alley as crews checked over the structure.
