A well-known Prince Albert lawyer will find himself on the other side of the bench as he’s facing fraud charges.
The RCMP’s economic crime department charged 78-year-old Kristian Albert Eggum with one count of fraud over $5,000.
An investigation into Eggum began on Aug. 13, 2013. Eggum is accused of defrauding the Canadian government between May 30, 2006 and May 2, 2012.
Eggum was banned from practicing law on May 2, 2012 while the Law Society of Saskatchewan investigated him for misappropriating funds and representing clients despite serious conflicts of interest.
His first appearance at Prince Albert Provincial Court was today, June 16.
