A storm cell moving through the region brought funnel clouds Sunday.
In Saskatoon one was seen around just after 6:00 p.m. by Deb Andersof. She described what she saw to News Talk “the spout is getting smaller but it’s just over, I’d say…over Evergreen area you can see the spout cloud” she said.
Environment Canada confirmed the sighting as cold core funnels. Meteorologist Brad Vrolijk says “they generally don’t develop into tornados…usually they’re brought on by severe thunderstorms”.
Funnel clouds were also seen in the Battlefords area Sunday afternoon.
Vrolijk says once thunderstorms hit you probably won’t see anymore funnel clouds.

The same storm cell also brought heavy rain to the Humboldt area.
Starting to pick up a little bit in @CityofHumboldt_ . Feel terrible for those flooded down south. #skstorm pic.twitter.com/J5CDXegrNS
