Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for much of central Saskatchewan, including Saskatoon.
A large, slow-moving system is expected to hit the province within the next 24 hours and linger into the weekend.
The rain is expected to continue into Saturday and will be heavy at times, before tapering off on Sunday.
Parts of the province could see up to 80 millimetres by the time all is said and done.
Rainfall warnings may be issued within the next 24 hours.
