Two recent brazen attacks by car thieves have Regina police responding.
Recent crime stats show car thefts are on the rise in Regina.
Regina Police Service Insp. Trevor Ewart said thieves are opportunistic and everyone needs to remain on the lookout.
“It is always concerning, be vigilant and take the proper steps and precautions so that some of the opportunities aren’t presented and some of these crimes don’t happen,” Ewart said.
On Thursday morning, an 84-year-old woman was allegedly pushed to the ground while scraping her windshields. The attackers then stole her car, according to police.
Just a few hours later that same day, a running SUV with a baby inside was taken from 13th Avenue in broad daylight.
