Three men are appealing their convictions for first-degree murder and their sentences in the beating death of 54-year-old Shawn Douglas.
Johnathon Peepeetch, Joshua Wilson and Dennis Thompson were all sentenced to life with no parole for 25 years.
They were convicted by a jury in the death of Douglas, who was robbed at a house party, stuffed in the trunk of a car, and then fatally beaten with a sledgehammer outside the city.
Thompson and Wilson say in their appeals that the trial judge allowed prejudicial evidence and erred in her instructions to the jury.
Peepeetch claims in his appeal that he wasn’t properly represented by his lawyer, and that the prosecution used unfair tactics.
