Instead of coal, Santa will be delivering parking tickets to drivers getting in the way of city crews.
Regina has declared certain snow routes will be in effect starting 6 a.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
This means there’s no parking along the identified roads during that time.
City crews will be able to plow roads from curb-to-curb, improving traffic flow along the busy roadways. It also ensures roads are passable for emergency response vehicles.
The snow routes are:
- Victoria Avenue between Broad Street and Winnipeg Street
- Winnipeg Street between Victoria Avenue and College Avenue
- College Avenue between Winnipeg Street and Arcola Avenue
Blue signs with a white snowflake help identify where there is no parking during the 24-hour ban.
Vehicles that remain parked on snow routes during this time will be ticketed.
