It will be the last New Year’s Day Levee at the Government house for Lieutenant Governor Vaughn Solomon Schofield on Monday.
In a Facebook post, it said as her time in the position comes to an end, she would be thrilled to meet everyone.
The annual tradition of the Government house being open to the public is something the Lieutenant Governor said she’s been looking forward to.
“I look forward to my New Year’s Levee each year, but this year is particularly special as it is my final opportunity to host this historic event as Lieutenant Governor,” Schofield wrote in a statement. “It has been a tremendous privilege to represent our Queen in our magnificent province over the past 6 years, and truly the best part of the job has been to meet the amazing people of Saskatchewan. I warmly invite everyone to join me at Government House, which is so beautifully decorated for the season.”
Doors open at 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. The event is free of charge and will feature a receiving line to meet the Lieutenant Governor, refreshments, entertainment and there will be a craft room for children.
