The City of Weyburn is under a boil water advisory until further notice.
According to the city’s website, the advisory is due to serious technical issues at the water treatment plant.
The advisory means that any water used for drinking, brushing teeth or making ice needs to be boiled for at least a minute.
Water for dishwashing should either be boiled or treated with bleach. If water is treated with bleach, the city said not to mix it with soaps or detergents.
Residents are still ok to shower, as long as they avoid swallowing any water.
The city is also encouraging people to restrict water consumption to essential household use.
