OK, whats the plan?!?!
With the trade of Dalton Bell to the Toronto Argonauts, that leaves the Roughriders with three quarterbacks.
Darian Durant, Graham Harrell and Cole Bergquist.
The latter two have never attended a CFL training camp but spent most of last season watching Durant, Jyles and Bell during practice.
So is the Rider brass comfortable going into camp with this scenario or is there one more big move to come?
Because there is one big name and popular quarterback available.
But would it be smart to bring in someone with the star power of Kerry Joseph to Saskatchewan?
Consider this Darian Durant and Kerry Joseph have a great relationship. Durant got permission from Joseph to wear his number four after THE TRADE.
Joseph wouldn't mind returning and is prepared to take a back seat.
Everything makes perfect sense with one very important question left to answer.
What's the price tag?

Buck Pierce is now available too. He may have been hurt a few times, but is very solid. Kerry Joseph is a feelgood choice, but he is nothing without Kent Austin to lead him.
I knew it!
I actually predicted this as soon as KJ was traded to the Boatmen. I could see the momentum to the upcoming move build as he rode the pine in a poorly coached team. I am all for this, as the last time he wore our colours he got a ring, and MOP. Two howevers: You've got the first one with the price tag and second, is the head coach the only holdover from that championship season? This might have an effect but overall I still hold a high regard for Joseph. Let's avoid the ugly "QB controversy" talk right now, having a backup of Joseph's quality would be a good thing for the Riders.IMHO
I completely agree, i dont
I completely agree, i dont think bringing Joseph here is all bad, depending on the price tag,,Darian has said he was taught alot by Joseph and they are great friends, as long as Kerry understands he is only a back up there wont be any controversy lol, but this is solely dependent on the price, if the price is what a back up should be then great, he may also teach those younger two a thing or two, then they can step into the back up roll when joseph moves on.
Have to agree, but two
Have to agree, but two things need to made very clear to him.
1. You are going to be the back-up
2. You sign for back-up money.
don't forget, we still got crandell!!!!!!!!!!!!
he's on the payroll
Re---don't forget, we still got crandell!!!!!!!!!!!!
EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would far sooner go with Crandell the Joseph.
Austin isn't here, & he is the one that made Kerry look good.
Sure, Kerry was the one that made the plays, but without Austin, you saw how well he did in Toronto.
NOT VERY GOOD @ ALL.
Austin made Kerry believer in himself.
"GO-GETTEM-RIDERS" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone but Pierce
He should just quit while he's got some brain cells.
Kerry Joseph.
If Kerry came here(which I strongly doubt) @ a real cheap price tag, play him as the third string guy, & only then until one of the rookies looked ready to play #-1, if need be.
Then release him, & put the other rookie in as the third string guy.
The Riders are going to have to develope a rookie the same as they did with Darian Durrant.
"GO-GETTEM-RIDERS" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
