Cleanup Begins In Maple Creek
Damage to town more than one million dollars
The Trans-Canada remains closed at the Saskatchewan and Alberta border, with atleast a two hour detour in affect. But the evacuation order has been lifted in Maple Creek giving people some respite. Unfortunately they now have the long process of cleaning up.
Damage to the town is easily past the $1 million mark and climbing.
Many don't have flood insurance, and are counting on provincial disaster assistance, which caps at $160,000 per household.
