Roadwork on Highway 1 will effect traffic
Drivers in the Regina area can expect some delays around the Highway 1 and Lewvan Drive interchange over the next few days.
Major work will be going on as crews put steel girders in place to construct the bridge for the interchange.
The highway ministry's Doug Wakabayashi notes that traffic along Highway 1 will be down to one lane in either direction.
"Anyone looking to go northbound on Lewvan will have to use either the Highway 6/Albert Street interchange or the west Regina bypass," said Wakabayashi.
Work will be taking place during non-peak hours, from 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Crews could also be doing work during the evening if necessary, while rain has the potential to impact that time line as well.
Crews have been working on the project for three years. Wakabayashi says the project should be wrapped up this fall.
