Birds stuck around in Sask. for winter
Many have even ignored bird feeders because of plentiful natural food

If you've been hearing a strange whistling noise this winter, you're not going crazy; many birds who normally migrate for the winter stuck it out this year because of the mild temperatures.
Nature Saskatchewan's Lorne Scott said some were scared off by the January cold snap, but more have stayed.
"There's been reports of fewer birds coming to bird feeders because there's lot of natural food out there for them," he said.
"Now that it's into the later part of winter we actually have one lark starting to show up, and great horned owls are already establishing their nesting territory."
He said a recent count around Christmas found hundreds of Canada Geese around the Katepwa dam.
