A Regina artist named Greg Ochitwa is opening a new show in the Globe Theatre's Shumiatcher Sandbox Series called 'Cope', a hip hop journey about years of struggles.

Ochitwa spent most of the last five years writing it, inspired by his own battle with a disease which caused his joints to fuse inside their sockets.

Ochitwa thought an audience could relate to the theme of struggles.

"I knew that it was something that not everybody is exposed to, and that not every theatre student is exposed to," he said.

"I had some unique experiences in that world."

Ochitwa has been involved in Saskatchewan's hip hop community since finishing high school, even releasing an album with a group earlier this month.
