Diesel shortage impacting Sask. trucking
Higher prices mean higher rates for customers

Trucking companies seems to be hardest hit by a diesel fuel shortage across western Canada as well as rising fuel prices in the past few weeks.
Businesses in the Battlefords area aren’t excluded. Tim Sitter is the owner/operator of Northwest Custom Hauling out of Edam.
He says the price of diesel fuel is the biggest concern because they are paying a premium. These increases means he has to raise rates, which directly translates to higher costs for consumers.
Sitter says they have had fuel shortages before but were always able to work through them... but he has filled a few slip tanks to make sure they don't run out.
So far there is no end in sight to the shortage.
