End to Prince Albert's boil water order still murky
There is still no end in sight to Prince Albert's boil water order.
"We've got a lot of work to do. We have submitted a plan now to flush the system and the province is looking at that,' said City Manager Robert Cotteril.
The city said last week it could be another three weeks before the order was lifted.
"People want to say, is that two weeks from this date or this date and I don't want to say yet. Once I know we are into the flushing I'll be very confident saying we are very close,' said Cotteril.
Over the weekend progress was being made to restore the water system back to normal.
Sediment at the bottom of the river street reservoir was less than expected, so work was able to be concluded earlier than the three day timeline originally set out.
The boil water order has been in place since February 6th. The problem was traced to a faulty valve at the water treatment plant.
