Former British PM Margaret Thatcher dies at 87
Former British Prime Minister Margret Thatcher has died of a stroke at the age of 87.
The woman known as "The Iron Lady" was Britian's longest-serving leader of the United Kingdom in the 20th century from 1979 to 1990. She was also the only woman ever to have held the post.
As Prime Minister, she implemented Conservative policies that have come to be known as "Thatcherism".
Thatcher’s family is expected to make an official statement later today.
