One of the world's top Picasso art dealers is remembering his prairie roots by giving back to the University of Saskatchewan.

Dr. Frederick Mulder was raised in Eston and now he is a highly successful art dealer in London, England. In memory of his time at the University of Saskatchewan Mulder has donated six original linocuts by Pablo Picasso.

“I gave five of them in honour or memory of people who had been important to me,” Mulder said.

He started his collection of original prints while he was studying overseas.

“I got really hooked by the medium,” Mulder explained. “I started bringing things back to Canada to sell to help pay for trips.”

This time he brought a collection of art back home for a different reason.

To his knowledge, this leaves the U of S with more Picasso linocuts than any other art institution in Canada.
