Regina library board chair hears concerns over transparency
The chair of the Regina Public Library Board has dismissed concerns about its transparency, after advocacy group The Friends Of The Library issued a statement earlier this week about a big-ticket plan to redevelop the central downtown branch.
The advocates are worried the 'cultural centre' project is being rushed through without public consultation.
Board chair Hincks-Joehnk said that although more than two years have passed since the announcement, the project is still in its earlier stages.
"We do plan to do public consultation on the project, but the timing just isn't there yet," she said.
"We're not at a point where we have anything to show the public."
Hincks-Joehnk said she doubts the public at large is as worried as The Friends Of The Library are.
