The contest of Canada's women's curling champions began Saturday, with two teams from Saskatchewan in Red Deer for the Scotties.
Amber Holland is back along with her rink as Team Canada, after winning the event last year.
"People have talked about the fact that it becomes a target," she said.
"We know that stepping into the Scotties is going to be a different feel."
Michelle Englot and her rink out of the Tartan Curling Club in Regina will be representing Saskatchewan.
Holland will face Newfoundland in the first draw at 2 p.m., while Englot's first action will be later tonight against Nova Scotia.
