Pass parking only at Evraz Place for preseason game

There’s still a lot to get used to for Regina residents with a brand new stadium, and that includes figuring out where to park around the stadium.

Paula Kohl, director of marketing and communication at Evraz Place, said only people who have purchased a season parking pass from the Riders will be able to park on the property around the stadium.

“There is no parking to the public that day,” Kohl said.

That includes the Co-operators Centre parking lot as well. Those with hockey, or other non-football events at Evraz Place during the game, have been contacted about alternate parking options.

Kohl explained there will be people at the gates.

She said the best way to get to the game, for those in Regina and from out of town, is to take the free transit system. Buses will be available at the four malls and in two downtown locations. 

“If people are coming from out of town in any direction, they can leave their car at the mall and it’s the best way to come.”

She also said if people want to bicycle to the game, they can take advantage of the bike valet service they will be providing.

Road closures

Regina police are reminding people to keep an eye out before and after the game due to an increase in foot and vehicle traffic.

Police encouraged people to leave early to ensure they get to the game on time.

Starting at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, there will be limited traffic allowed on the 1500, 1600 and 1700 blocks of Elphinstone Street. Transit and local residents will be the only ones allowed on the roads. Residents may be asked to provide proof of where their home address is.

• 1500 block of Elphinstone Street at Dewdney Avenue
• Princess Street and Ninth Avenue
• Argyle Street and Ninth Avenue
• MacTavish Street and Ninth Avenue
• Elphinstone Street and Ninth Avenue
• Elphinstone Street and 10th Avenue
• Elphinstone Street and North Railway Street
• Saskatchewan Drive and Elphinstone Street
