Another driver has been clocked travelling at a high speed in Regina – and this time police are looking for help finding them.
Police said officers conducting laser speed enforcement were monitoring traffic in the southbound lanes of Ring Road in a construction zone where workers were present Sunday night. Around 8:30 p.m., one of the officers heard a car coming in the northbound lanes, travelling at a high rate of speed.
According to police, an officer with a radar clocked a maroon-coloured Nissan 350Z or 370Z travelling at 183 kilometres an hour in the construction zone, approximately 50 metres per second.
Police said it was “not feasible” for the officers to follow and stop the car, which was allegedly last seen weaving in and out of northbound traffic on Ring Road.
Police are still working to identify and locate the driver and the vehicle. Police have described the vehicle as a maroon-coloured Nissan, either a 350z or 370z two-doored model, with tinted side windows, possibly an early 2000s model.
Anyone who might have witnessed the incident on Sunday night at around 8:30 p.m. is asked to contact Regina police at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
