9:00 – Two Boeing astronauts have spent the better part of a month in space at the International Space Station after their eight-day mission was extended because of issue with their spacecraft, the Starliner. Aaron Boley, associate professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of British Columbia (UBC) has been following the situation closely and joins Brent Loucks to explain what the situation is.
9:30 – After a long weekend with some major rainfall and a generally wet spring and early summer, Saskatchewan Minister Responsible for Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation and the Water Security Agency, David Marit, joins Brent Loucks to discuss the recent rainfall and crop outlook in the province to kick of July.
10:00 – A major increase in demand for blood projects could be having a negative impact on the national supply. Aaron Barlow, community development manager for Canadian Blood Services, joins Brent Loucks to talk about the need for new donors this summer to ensure hospitals can adequately care for patients with a proper blood supply this season.

11:00 – A Swift Current band has been selected as one of the top twenty rock and roll bands in the America’s Next Top Hitmaker contest, put on by Colossal and Rolling Stone Magazine. The band is competing after releasing its first EP last November. Lead singer and front man for Tombstone Whiskey, Darrin Schwartz, joins Brent Loucks to talk about the contest, the band and bringing Saskatchewan to this major stage.
11:20 – Environment Canada meteorologist, Terri Lang, gives listeners the numbers when it comes to rain seen across the province over the Canada Day long weekend and offers some statistics comparing this year’s rainfall over the weekend to past years.
11:30 – A new deputy chief marshall of the Saskatchewan Marshalls Service, Richard Loewen, has been appointed. Loewen joins Brent Loucks alongside Chief Marshall Robert Cameron to speak on his new position and give an update on the Marshalls.
12:00 – Research at the University of Regina is getting a boost when it comes to funding for dementia studies. The Government of Canada has set aside more than $4.4 million for scholars from the U of R, including assistant professor Dr. Natasha Gallant, to study reducing social isolation and loneliness for older adults in the interest of preventing or delaying dementia. Dr. Gallant joins Brent Loucks to share the impact of this funding and her research.
