The Saskatchewan RCMP says the death of a 29-year-old woman in Meadow Lake last week was not criminal or suspicious.
According to police, officers were called to a parking lot near the junction of Highway 4 and First Avenue West in Meadow Lake just before 9 a.m. on Friday, where they found the woman dead. She was identified as a 29-year-old woman from the Waterhen Lake First Nation, and police said her family has been notified of the death.

While police initially announced that the death was “considered suspicious in nature,” the Mounties issued an update on Tuesday saying the investigation by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service determined the death was not, in fact, suspicious or criminal in nature.
“As there is no criminality involved in this investigation, we will not be sharing further details to be mindful of the privacy of the victim and those involved,” the RCMP noted.
