The Lumsden RCMP responded to a report of the collision at about 3:45 p.m.

The Mounties said they responded immediately and determined “a car and semi collided.”

The driver of the car was declared dead on the scene by EMS.

According to the statement, the semi driver did not report injuries to police.

Neither vehicle has passengers.

Lumsden RCMP continue to investigate with the help of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

Muskowekwan First Nation is about 151 km north of Regina.

The collision happened on Wednesday just after 11 a.m.

Officers responded to the call along with local EMS and STARS. Upon arrival, they found a marked RCMP vehicle and truck had collided.

The police officer driving the RCMP vehicle was taken to hospital by STARS with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. There were no passengers in the police vehicle at the time.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck was taken to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.

Highway #15 was temporarily closed but has since been reopened.

Punnichy RCMP continue to investigate with the help of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

The first crash happened at around 8:15 a.m., in the area of Broadway Avenue and Abbott Street.

“When police arrived, they found a seven year-old female injured and lying on the ground,” the police service said.

“EMS arrived on scene and transported the victim to hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.”

According to police, the girl was struck by an eastbound vehicle as she was crossing Broadway at a crosswalk. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, police said.

The second crash happened at around 7:30 p.m., near Ninth Avenue North and McCarthy Boulevard.

“A 19 year-old female was struck by a vehicle in the west bound lanes of 9th Avenue North. She was taken by EMS to hospital to be treated for what appeared to be minor injuries,” the police service said.

“Investigation determined the female was not at a corner or crosswalk when she attempted to travel across the street.”

The police service advised drivers to ensure windows and mirrors are not obstructed, to always be aware of their surroundings, and to remember that all corners are considered crosswalks.

“Be aware of pedestrians attempting to cross the street,” the police service said.

“If a vehicle in front of you or next to you is stopping, do not proceed or try to go around them as there may be a pedestrian crossing the street.”

Pedestrians were reminded to cross the street at designated crosswalks or corners, and to ensure vehicles are stopped before proceeding into each lane.

“Check all directions before crossing and stay alert of your surroundings as you cross the street,” Regina police noted, adding that pedestrians could be ticketed if they are found to be at fault in a crash.

The police force also reminded drivers to obey road closure signs.

“Multiple drivers drove through the clearly marked perimeter on yesterday’s collision investigation scene,” the Regina Police Service said.

“One driver was ticketed after driving through the scene and over top of evidence.”

Police, paramedics and firefighters all responded to the scene just east of Canwood shortly before midnight on Friday.

According to the RCMP, the 43-year-old man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene.

“The driver and a second passenger were transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature,” the RCMP noted in a statement.

The crash remains under investigation, the RCMP said, with help from a police collision reconstruction expert.

According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, officers were called to the scene of the crash on Whitfield Road in the RM of Buckland on August 4.

“One adult female passenger was declared deceased by EMS at the scene,” the RCMP said in a statement.

“The adult female driver and an adult male passenger were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.”

An investigation into the crash, which included an RCMP collision reconstruction expert, led to the arrest of the driver on January 22.

The woman is facing three charges: Dangerous driving, impaired driving and operating a conveyance causing death.

The RCMP said she’s scheduled to appear in a Prince Albert courtroom on February 13.

The crash happened just before 10 p.m. on October 19 on Highway 11, about a kilometre north of Dundurn. According to police, a truck and SUV collided in the southbound lanes, with the truck going in the wrong direction – northbound in the southbound lanes – at the time of the collision.

A mother and daughter from Alberta, ages 50 and 20, who were inside the SUV at the time of the crash were both declared dead at the scene by paramedics. Two children who were inside the truck driven by Barry were taken to hospital with what police described as “non-life-threatening injuries.”

Brittany Barry, a 32-year-old woman from the R.M. of Blucher, was arrested and charged with a lengthy list of offences in connection with the crash.

According to Saskatoon defence lawyer Brian Pfefferle, who is representing Barry in court as co-counsel, Barry announced on Thursday her intention to enter guilty pleas to two counts of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

“We anticipate that the remaining charges will be disposed of on the day of sentencing,” Pfefferle said.

Barry is set to be sentenced on March 14, and Pfefferle said she will formally enter her pleas on that date in order to respect the family members of the victims, who will be traveling from Alberta in order to attend the hearing in person. Pfefferle said he expects that roughly 20 victim-impact statements will be read in court on that date.

Pfefferle said the announcement of a guilty plea came relatively quickly in this case, which he said was important in order to avoid drawing out the case while the families of the victims wait for closure.

“It was important for Ms. Barry and for her family to ensure this matter was dealt with quickly, primarily of course thinking about the impact this had on the deceased and their family,” he said.

“It won’t, obviously, heal wounds and won’t change the day in question, but it will hopefully let them have, at least, closure for this process that this doesn’t hang around.”

Pfefferle said the Crown and defence have agreed to a joint sentencing submission, and while he wouldn’t reveal the details, he said it includes both jail time and a driving suspension.

According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, the first crash saw two SUVs collide on the highway west of Delisle at around 8 a.m.

A 73-year-old man from Wiseton who was driving one of the SUVs was declared dead at the scene by paramedics, police said.

The crash also claimed the life of a 65-year-old Furdale woman who was a passenger in the other SUV. That vehicle’s driver was taken to hospital by STARS helicopter with serious injuries.

The second crash, which happened west of Laura just before 11 p.m., involved a collision between an SUV and a pickup truck.

The SUV’s driver, a 42-year-old man from Airdrie, Alta., was declared dead at the scene by first responders.

The driver of the truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In both cases, stretches of Highway 7 were closed during the initial investigation, but the route since reopened to traffic. The RCMP said the crashes remain under investigation, with help from a police collision reconstruction expert.

According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, Mounties received reports of 52 crashes and incidents during the 24-hour period between 10 a.m. on Sunday and 10 a.m. on Monday.

“As the snow and icy conditions continue, the Saskatchewan RCMP is reminding drivers to slow down when driving on slippery/snow-covered surfaces or with reduced visibility,” the RCMP said in a statement.

One of the crashes during that period involved a car and a train, the RCMP said. The collision happened at around 9:40 a.m. on Monday on Range Road 3071, just east of Langham.

“Investigation determined the car slid into the train with winter conditions believed to be a factor,” the RCMP said in a statement. “The sole occupant of the vehicle was treated on scene and released.”

The Mounties also advised drivers to check weather and road condition reports before heading out, and to consider postponing non-essential travel.

“If travel is necessary, stay on roads that have recently received road maintenance,” the RCMP added.

“If you find yourself stranded, or in an emergency situation road-side, stay in your vehicle, stay warm and make sure your tailpipe remains clear of snow and ice.”

The latest information on road conditions around the province can be found through the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline.

According to the RCMP, officers were called to the site of the crash near Langenberg at around 6:30 p.m.

“Investigation determined an SUV and a semi collided,” the RCMP said in a statement.

“The driver of the SUV, a 41-year-old female from BC, was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. Her family has been notified.”

The driver of the semi was injured in the crash, and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the Mounties said.

While that stretch of highway is once again open to traffic, the RCMP noted that the crash remains under investigation, with help from a collision reconstruction expert.

According to a release from the Saskatchewan RCMP, released on Monday afternoon, a car and truck collided about eight kilometres north of the city at around 6:30 p.m.

“The driver and passenger of the car were both declared deceased by EMS at the scene,” the RCMP explained.

“They have been identified as a 35-year-old male from North Battleford and a 35-year-old female from Douglas, SK. Their families have been notified.”

The truck driver, meanwhile, was taken to hospital by paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, the RCMP said, with the help of a collision reconstruction expert.
