For any kids or parents going stir crazy during the last week of school holidays, it could be a good time to break out the skates.
With weather warming to more seasonal temperatures, shinny season can now start in Saskatchewan.
There’s even a plus side to the extreme cold Regina felt over the holidays: most of the outdoor rinks now have ice.
According to the city’s website, almost all of Regina’s 39 outdoor rink locations — including 23 boarded rinks — are open, along with the speed skating oval in the Mount Pleasant Sports Park.
Several of the outdoor rinks also have ice surfaces without boards, some of which are listed as “in progress.”
For those who prefer to skate indoors, public skating times are available online.
