The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added another homegrown product to their roster for 2026. The CFL Club announced U of S Huskie Daniel Wiebe has signed a contract.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed one of their highly-touted prospects, as University of Saskatchewan linebacker Seth Hundeby officially put ink to paper on his CFL contract.

Braidy Birdsall and Addie Ziebart were both selected in the fifth round of the WPBL draft. Birdsall was selected by Boston and Ziebart was selected by New York. The first WPBL season starts in May.

The University of Saskatchewan Huskies saw their season come to an end in the Vanier Cup once again, losing to the Montreal Carabins at Mosaic Stadium on Saturday.

U of S Huskies wrapped their final practice before the Vanier Cup at Mosaic Stadium, leaning on veteran experience, a physical identity and a poised young quarterback ahead of the championship game.

The University of Saskatchewan Huskies went 7-1 during the regular season before rattling off playoff wins against the University of British Columbia, the University of Regina, and Queen's University.

Before the game against Seattle Kraken, the Chicago Blackhawks will honour Fred Sasakamoose with a ceremonial puck drop at the United Center indoor arena. Due to a recent operation, Fred's son Neil won't be there.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders admitted there were mixed emotions as the players cleared out their lockers. While they did accomplish their goals, this is the last time this group will all be together.

"I've always valued the history of tennis and the example set by those who came before me," Federer said. "To be recognized in this way by the sport and by my peers is deeply humbling."

Members of the Saskatchewan Roughriders kept the Grey Cup celebration going as the team held its victory parade down Albert Street and then spoke to fans outside the Legislative Building.

The Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation's website experienced issues on Sunday night, as people tried to get tickets for the massive 50/50 draw. It cost one fan seven times more than she'd budgeted.

"I wouldn't have missed this for the world," said one Rider fan who took part in the 2025 Grey Cup championship parade in Regina. The party ended with speeches from the players at the Legislative Building.

"I think as long as this management is in place, there's no reason for the team not to experience success," Rob Vanstone said during an appearance on the Evan Bray Show on Friday.

"We're just incredibly proud of Mitch and the whole team," Cheryl Picton said. "And Mitch has just worked so hard for this for so many years. He's been so dedicated, and we're just so very proud of him."

The team will parade south on Albert Street in "vehicles driven by the Royal Canadian Armed Forces." The parade ends at the Legislative Building, with speeches from Corey Mace and Trevor Harris.

The Riders were warmly welcomed back to Mosaic on Monday afternoon after winning the CFL championship, with head coach Corey Mace saying it was something the team had worked for since training camp.

Missourian Brian Clark drove for a day and a half to get to Winnipeg in time for this weekend's Grey Cup without a ticket to watch the game. But thanks to a Bombers fan, he saw the team's victory.

"I'm going to have so much journalling that I have to do," Cathy White Ferland said, overjoyed by her son Logan's unforgettable week winning the Grey Cup and Jake Gaudaur award.

"It's the first time that I've been at the stadium here and to bring (the cup) home is amazing," said Angela Mennie, a lifelong Riders fan since her father first got season tickets in 1974.
