Months after the initial fraud all $1.04-million has been returned to the City of Saskatoon accounts.
In an update on Christmas Eve, the city said it received the remaining $345,000 after the 30-day window of appeal passed in an Ontario court case.
The case in Ontario Supreme Court outlined how the money ended up in an account of a numbered corporation owned by a man that worked at Tim Hortons.
Back in August, the city announced it was the victim of online fraud.
It said someone, claiming to be a construction company CFO asked to change the banking information tied to an upcoming payment.
The city worker complied.
Since the fraud new policies were created to avoid a repeat incident, according to city officials.
