Members of Regina Fire & Protective Services are interested in helping battle the wildfires in northern Saskatchewan.
Deputy chief Gerard Kay says the province has said Regina’s crews aren’t needed yet, and Kay says they won’t self deploy.
For now, Regina firefighters are helping where they can in the Queen City.
Members are working with the Red Cross, helping greet evacuees and get them settled into the evacuation centres. Crews are also giving some public education on fire safety to the families and kids in the centre.
