Storms with high winds, heavy rain, and lightning spread across southern Saskatchewan on Saturday afternoon and evening.
Severe thunderstorm warnings and watches flashed on and off as the small storms moved around. The warnings from Environment Canada also talked about hail, but as of Saturday evening there were no reports of hail falling.
The weather shut down the main stage at the Craven Country Jamboree for a while.
“We were watching Ricky Skaggs and the clouds got really threatening-looking, and they pulled him off stage … rained hard for a little while but not enough to make it a mudhole by any means,” said Dwayne Mihalicz from inside his camper on the Craven campgrounds Saturday afternoon.
He said the the rain had backed off and the sky was getting lighter, but soon after the rain came down even harder.
