Environment Canada issued tornado watches Sunday for a wide are of southeast Saskatchewan.
The weather agency says a low pressure system combined with a warm and humid air will create favourable conditions for the development of funnel clouds and possibly brief tornadoes this afternoon.
Many communities excluded from the tornado watch are under a severe thunderstom alert.
