Two prisoners who scaled a fence at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre briefly tasted freedom Sunday.
The inmates, ages 20 and 23, escaped the jail around 2 p.m., police said.
After jumping the barbed wire protected steel fence they ran into the city’s north industrial area.
The police airplane was deployed to assist officers on the ground and after a brief chase, the inmates were captured.
One was taken to hospital for injuries received while climbing the fence.
Both will appear in court Monday to face a charge of escape lawful custody.
