Murray Wood: The public has a right to know details when someone is killed by police
Imagine living in a country where police shoot and kill someone, then don't tell the public who it was. Well, that's wha...
The damage is being assessed after thunderstorms lashed a number of central Alberta communities with heavy rain and golf ball-sized hail.
The severe weather was also packing a strong wind as it tore through Red Deer, Lacombe, Ponoka, Rimbey, Bentley and Rocky Mountain House, damaging vehicles, windows and other property.
Environment Canada issued tornado warnings and several threatening funnel clouds were seen around the Airdrie and Crossfield areas, but there were no reports of touchdowns.
Storms also struck the Lloydminster area.
