Among the rides, games, and food at the Queen City Ex there are also a few furry friends that have been thrilling the kids.
Kids crowd around Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo to see the animals.
Though some of the adults were a little squeamish, there was a line for the kids to hold a tarantula.
“He felt weird, and he really sort of creeped me out, sort of,” said six-year-old Bruce Shimirri. “The ends of his legs were really stiff, and not that furry, but he looked furry.”
Sisters Syndey and Emma McCrank took their turn to hold Miss Fluffy, the tarantula.
“It was really furry, and big, and cool,” said Sydney.

Emma just called it “awesome”.
The fan favourite though wasn’t an insect, but a marsupial: Austin the red kangaroo.
“My favourite animal here would be the baby kangaroo, and I never saw one,” said Emma.
The reptile zoo has performance daily inside the Credit Union Eventplex at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m.
