A young offender has died while serving a sentence at Saskatoon’s Kilburn Hall youth centre.
Drew Wildby, executive director of corporate affairs with the Ministry of Justice, said the death happened on Wednesday. Wilby said the boy died in hospital after being transported from Kilburn Hall.
No foul play is suspected. Wilby said the incident remains under investigation by both Saskatoon police and the ministry.
Wilby said the case will also be referred to a coroner, who could conduct an inquest into the boy’s death.
