A couple of defensive backs are no longer wearing green and white.
The Riders announced on Saturday the release of veterans Geoff Tisdale and Michael Carter.
Tisdale joined the Riders just over a month ago as injuries mounted in the secondary. Tisdale played just four games registering seven tackles. Before joining the Riders, Tisdale played for the Montreal Alouettes but was released before the regular season began. It’s believed Tisdale was released by the Alouettes for his inability to adjust to the new illegal contact rules.
Carter joined the Riders in the offseason after stops in Montreal and Hamilton. In three games, Carter picked up defensive tackles and two special teams tackles.
The Riders bye week comes to an end on Tuesday when the team returns to practice. They host the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday afternoon at Mosaic Stadium.
