Shooting suspect dead after Virginia reporter, cameraman killed during live interview

A TV reporter and cameraman in Virginia conducting an interview on live TV were shot and killed Wednesday morning.

Numerous media organizations are reporting police pursued the suspected shooter — said to be a former employee of the TV station WDBJ7 — before he shot himself. Virginia’s secretary of safety and a local sheriff says he has died.

WDBJ7’s Alison Parker and Adam Ward were conducting and recording the interview at a place known as at the Bridgewater Plaza near Smith Mountain Lake.
