A Saskatoon man was sent to hospital after police tasered him when he threatened to hurt himself with a knife early Saturday.
Saskatoon police responded to a domestic dispute on Grosvenor Crescent around 1:45 a.m. When they arrived they found a 19-year-old man in the street armed with a knife and threatening to hurt himself.
Officers tried talking the man down but he became more agitated. Police then tasered and disarmed him.
The man was taken to hospital. No one else was hurt.
As regulated by an internal policy, a police sergeant investigated the scene and the taser will be examined. Use of Force reports will be sent to a review board.
