An attempted child abduction north of Prince Albert has the local RCMP looking for two men.
Police say it happened on the Little Red River First Nation north of the city Saturday night.
At around 10 p.m., two 12 year old girls were walking along a road when they were approached by a light-coloured, extended-cab truck with an air compressor in the back.
The driver offered the girls a ride and some sweets, but the girls refused. At one point, police said the driver jumped out and tried to grab one of them, but both girls escaped.
Nobody was injured.
The driver was thought to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time. He’s described as a tall, heavy-set, First Nations man in his 30’s. He was wearing red-ish pants with white leather stripes and a thick black sweater.
There is no description of the second suspect.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Prince Albert RCMP (306-765-5500) or Crimestoppers (1-800-222-8477).
