Saskatoon police believe a 14-year-old is responsible for the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy on Avenue Q South in Saskatoon.
Saskatoon police were called to the scene just before 6:45 p.m. on Monday evening. When they arrived at the home at the corner of 19th Street and Avenue Q South, the boy was found dead.
Major crimes investigators had the home roped off as they gathered evidence Tuesday morning and spoke with witnesses.
An autopsy was conducted on Wednesday. The coroner’s office said the victim died as a result of a gunshot wound.
Police say boy’s name will not be released at the request of his family. The deceased was incorrectly identified as being 16.
Police are consulting with Crown prosecutors to determine charges. The scene has been cleared and the investigation is ongoing.
