Saskatoon city council awarded the contract for a pair of new bridges at a special meeting held Tuesday.
Following a recommendation from administration, councillors voted unanimously to accept a bid from Graham Commuter Partners.
Graham submitted a technical proposal to win the bid.
Dan Willems, special projects manager with the City of Saskatoon’s transportation division, said the proposal was meant to prove that Graham was able to physically accomplish the work to specifications, with a financial component requiring them to prove they could also do it on budget.
Willems said Graham will now have to put together designs and budgets for the bridges.
Graham was a partner on the Circle Drive South Bridge and is also the contractor on the new Saskatoon Children’s Hospital.
