Rawlco Radio donates $250,000 to STARS in Saskatchewan

Rawlco Radio Ltd. has announced a gift of $250,000 to the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) to support the non-profit medical transport service.

The donation will go towards STARS’ Regina and Saskatoon bases.

“STARS provides a valuable service in critical times throughout Saskatchewan,” said Rawlco president and CEO Gordon Rawlinson.

“We have been proud to have worked with STARS in Saskatchewan from the very beginning.”

In a news release, STARS’ president and CEO Andrea Robertson said “Rawlco has been a long-standing supporter of STARS and has demonstrated, in many ways, an ongoing commitment to supporting healthy and safe communities.”

Rawlco was one of STARS’ first donors, donating $100,000 during its launch in 2012.

“Their support has and will continue to play a significant role in our ability to provide critical care to patients across Saskatchewan. We are very grateful for their ongoing commitment to our cause.”

STARS began 30 years ago in Alberta and grew to six bases across Western Canada. It opened bases in Regina and Saskatoon in 2012, which have flown more than 2,200 missions.
