RCMP have extended Amber Alert into Saskatchewan for a missing two-year-old girl in southwestern Alberta.
Police say Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette was abducted early Monday morning from the town of Blairmore.
Mounties were first called to a home in Blairmore at 11:15 a.m. where the body of Terry Blanchette, Hailey’s father, was found. Mounties confirm Blanchette was the victim of a homicide.
RCMP believe the events began at 3:30 a.m. at the home. Mounties are still working to confirm if the home belonged to Terry Blanchette.
It’s believed Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette was taken from the Blairmore home.
Police don’t know how many suspects might be involved. The suspect or suspects fled in a newer model white van with a large rear antenna, with a flag attached. RCMP say anyone who sees this van should not approach the suspect. Please contact the Crowsnest Pass RCMP at 403-562-2866.
Hailey is described as white, with light brown, straight hair with bangs, and brown eyes.
An Amber Alert is in effect in Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Montana.
