People looking to help refugees can do so by donating to the Canadian Red Cross and Saskatchewan Credit Union.
Cash donations will be accepted at participating credit unions until September 30 and all donations by Canadians will be matched up to $100 million by the federal government.
“No single country can handle this crisis alone; a collaborative approach from everyone is required. We can do our part in Saskatchewan by donating to support humanitarian aid being provided to affected families,” said Sarah Fedirko, Manager of Corporate Appeals for the Red Cross.
The Red Cross is providing food, first aid, medical care, psychological support and temporary shelter to refugees fleeing their homes in war-torn Syria and neighbouring countries.
