Saskatoon police helped RCMP nab a suspect who allegedly stole a car Saturday morning.
The Saskatoon Police Air Support Unit took off when RCMP asked for help to find a stolen car. From the air, police found the car traveling fast down Highway 16 just west of Clavet towards Saskatoon.
Police tracked the car to a driveway in the 1100 block of Colony Street in the Varsity View neighbourhood where the driver had abandoned the vehicle and run off.
Police watched the suspect’s movements from the air while officers and their dogs tracked the suspect on the ground and made the arrest. The suspect got some minor injuries when they were bitten by one of the dogs.
The suspect is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, fail to stop for police and drug related offences.
