No one was hurt when a van hit the wall of an apartment building in east Regina.
The crash happened Thursday morning on Vaughn Street near Park Street. People who live in the building say no one was hurt. It appeared that the driver lost control as the van came from a parking lot across the street towards the building.
The van knocked over a fire hydrant before crashing through the wall.
Regina police say a 33-year-old man was driving the van. Their investigation shows he was trying to turn left, but somehow kept going straight, directly into the unoccupied apartment unit.
The driver faces two charges under the Traffic Safety Act: driving without due care and attention and driving as a learner while not accompanied by a qualified driver.
Workers were already on scene shortly afterwards patching the wall and assessing the damage.
