A sheriff’s spokesman says the threat has subsided following a mass shooting at a southwest Oregon community college.
Authorities say the shooting Thursday at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg has left a number of people dead and injured at least 20 more. There has been no official confirmation on how many people have died – reports have indicated it’s 13.
Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin confirmed that the shooter was killed by police. Oregon Governor Kate Brown said that shooter was a 20-year-old man.
Roseburg is about 300 kilometres south of Portland. There are 3,000 students who attend the community college.
