After a rejected takeover bid, PotashCorp of Saskatchewan (PCS) says they’re backing away from trying to buy the German rival.
After two attempts to buy K+S, PCS said they’re pulling the roughly $8.8 billion offer off the table adding it’s no longer in the best interest of the company.
PCS said a slump in commodity prices and the refusal of K+S to engage in talks derailed the deal.
The Legacy Project camp opened in 2014 and is expected to house and employ 1,700 workers once the mine becomes operational in 2016.
