The University of Regina Rams are still winless this season after suffering a 34-19 loss to the Manitoba Bisons Friday night.
The game marked the fourth time in five games this season that the Rams put up more total offence than their opponents, but still couldn’t pull out a win.
The teams were tied 3-3 after the first quarter, but the Bison were able to take a 24-10 lead by halftime.
The Rams’ loss overshadowed a career night for third-year receiver Davin Johnston, who got the start with Mitch Thompson injured and exploded for 13 catches for 203 receiving yards to lead all players in both categories.
The entire conference now has a bye week before returning to action in two weeks. The Rams will once again face the Bison at Mosaic Stadium on Oct. 17 at 4 p.m.
